The Characters (No Spoilers).

So I'm going to start off by giving my opinions on our 5 members of Torchwood: Jack, Gwen, Ianto, Owen and Tosh. Just so you have a general idea of what I think of each of them. :)

Also we'll have some of Rhys and Andy too just because they're awesome. :p

Please note these character profiles were done before Children of Earth aired. So, we'll start off with our leader, our hero, our... Captain Jack Harkness:

So I guess my view of Jack is somewhat biased, what with me being a pretty huge (okay, fine... obsessive) John Barrowman fan. However, I'm going to try and keep that out of the way in giving my honest opinion of Jack. Jack is probably, for me, the 2nd most interesting character in Torchwood. He's very secretive which makes him somewhat interesting and mysterious. I find at times you never know quite where you are with Jack. Yet, he's always there with the humour leading to some fantastic quotes such as "When I said about getting a room I meant somewhere with linen!" and "That's nothing. It's when you compare teeth with a British guy... that's when it's really scary." I also like the way you can often relate to Jack in that he is very secretive yet at the same time he really does love and care for the other members of Torchwood. One thing about Jack though is his confidence... could he have much more?

Then there's Gwen Cooper, personally I don't see why so many people don't like her! I think Gwen's really genuine and quite funny as a character: Take the scene in "Greeks Bearing Gifts" where she is ridiculing Owen's predictions for example. Another thing I love about Gwen is how easy she is to empathise with, she's probably the most humane member of Torchwood and the all round carer which I like. I also think she's just generally lovely, plus once again: I love Eve Myles! Oh, and she's Welsh. Need I say much more?

"And this is Ianto Jones. Ianto cleans up after us and gets us everywhere on time... and he looks good in a suit." My personal favourite character: Ianto Jones. One thing I love about Ianto is his comic timing, he definitely has the best quotes which get me laughing every single time. He's a very deep and secretive character and my personal most interesting character in Torchwood. I find Ianto absolutely adorable and just generally really lovely. Plus once again he's Welsh. Oh, and he makes the best coffee this side of the rift. (:

"That's Doctor Owen Harper". Owen is another funny character, like Jack he is very confident and just a little bit "up himself". But we love him for it. Owen also has some fantastic lines, the majority of them dripping with sarcasm. He's probably the most rational member of Torchwood and likes to be right. At times we do see a more calm and sweet side to Owen, especially in "Adam", but I guess that doesn't really count. However, there are quite a few times in Torchwood where a lot of sympathy is created for Owen and again, he is quite easy to empathise with.

When I first met Toshiko I can honestly say that I wasn't her biggest fan. However, as the season progressed I began to like her a lot more. She's quite the quiet character, a bit like Ianto in that sense. At times she's very subdued and likes to keep herself to herself, nonetheless Tosh definitely has her moments. Tosh is also incredibly clever, definitely a hidden gem.

Like Gwen a lot of people seem to dislike Rhys, which I just don't understand! He is honestly one of the sweetest guys in existence! I absolutely love the extent that Rhys really cares for and loves Gwen, it really makes everything seem so much more at ease and realistic. Rhys also has a fantastic sense of humour and some quality lines "Did you say time agency? Don't tell me that's based in Cardiff too?" Like Gwen I love how genuine Rhys is, I just generally think he's a really lovely character. :)

"How's Rhys? Apart from hungry." PC Andy Davidson. I do love this guy. Pc Andy is ever the sweet and innocent policemen, he appears to admire Gwen and somewhat fancies her much to hers and Rhys' amusement. For this reason he isn't exactly Rhys' biggest fan ever. Andy is another with some fantastic quotes and although not the bravest guy, he has great wit about him. Like Rhys, Andy means well but things don't always go according to plan...

So now you know my view on the characters, it's time for my first review of the first Torchwood episode ever: Everything Changes. :)

Hello and Welcome...

To Yema's blog of Torchwood reviews. :)

I'll start off with some basic information: My name is Yema, I live in England and naturally I am a big Torchwood fan.

I will be reviewing every Torchwood episode in order, so even though Series 3 has quite recently aired I will probably not be putting up my reviews for it for a good few months.

My reviews will be as honest as possible with my opinion. Do not flame me if you don't like my opinion, because that's all it is... my opinion. You will probably come to know more about myself through my blog posts especially my preferences towards different characters, I don’t promise to remain unbiased!

Now obviously, my reviews will contain spoilers and spoiler pictures so if you have yet to see an episode reviewed my advise would be not to look at it. :p

I can’t promise to update regularly because I am a very busy person! However, especially if requested I will update as quickly as possible. :)

Anyhow, I really hope you'll enjoy reading my reviews and please do leave a comment! Yema. x
